CELEBRATING OUR LANGUAGES AND CULTURES

Well done to everyone for all the wonderful efforts made during our 'Celebrating Languages Week'.
We are very proud to have 37 different languages spoken in our school and each year, during the week of 'European day of Languages' (26th September) we arrange for our bilingual pupils, staff and parents to share their languages and heritage with the rest of the school.  This year, we learnt some words and greetings in the following languages: French, Italian, Spanish, Polish, Arabic, Twi (spoken in Ghana) and Tagalog (Philippines).

In addition to showing our pupils dressed in national costume for the day, the photos attached show a Philippine dance with coconut shells as 'castenettes', a Polish 'Robin Hood'
story being read in English and Polish and children explaining a Ghanaian tradition of being given a name for the day of the week that they are born.
