Performance of Year 6 2015-2016

Academic Results for 2016

I am delighted to announce the fantastic results that your children have achieved this year in Early Years, KS1 Phonics Screening, KS1 & KS2 SATS. I would like to share them with you, providing a national context where possible.

The focus on child-initiated learning supported by adults continues to produce highly active and engaged learners. We are delighted that there has been a significant increase of children reaching a good level of development from 2015-2016.

KS1 Phonics Screening

85% of children in Year 1 reached the phonics screening threshold. For comparison, last year’s national figure was 77%. This is an incredible result! The EYFS team and KS1 teaching staff collaborated to adapt the school’s Phonics strategy with great success.

The KS1 and  KS2 SATS testing in particular has received much negative coverage in the media, and caused a great deal of anxiety for many schools and families. Despite this, both our Year 2 and Year 6 pupils’ results have exceeded national expectations.
