On Friday 13th February we were delighted to receive the  LiveSimply Award in recognition of the school's response to Pope Francis’ invitation in Laudato Si' to “work with generosity and tenderness in protecting this world which God has entrusted to us”.

"It has been a pleasure to hear about your faith-inspired actions, demonstrating how you have been living simply, sustainably, and in solidarity with communities around the world living in poverty. This is a fantastic achievement, and we warmly congratulate you, your pupils, and your staff team."

    Michaela Mouquet LiveSimply Assessor

However, our LiveSimply journey doesn’t end here. We are committed to continuing the mission of living simply, sustainably, and in solidarity with others.

    Next Steps:

    • Continue developing our school garden to grow more food for the kitchen and local community.

    • Take part in new CAFOD campaigns to stand up for global justice.

    • Reduce waste and energy use across the school.

    • Keep praying and reflecting on how we can live out our faith through everyday choices.

Together, we will keep building a community rooted in gratitude, care for creation, and love for our global family.

Thank you to everyone who supported our LiveSimply journey — pupils, parents, staff, parish, and CAFOD. Your encouragement, prayers, and generosity have helped our school community grow in faith and action.

    • St Michael & St Martin Ranked 24th best school in England- The Times, 5th December 2025

      Published 05/12/25

The Times has released an analysis of the 2025 SATs results for Year 6 pupils across the country. We are delighted to report that St Michael & St Martin school ranked 24th out of approximately 16,500 primary schools in England based on end of Key Stage 2 attainment. What an achievement and something to be incredibly proud of as a school community. However, we do recognise that there is so much more to a good school than results, such as the level of pastoral care shown by our community, which we are equally proud of. Well done to all the pupils and staff who work hard every day to make our school such a lovely place to learn!
