We have begun the Summer term by completing our learning on ‘Forces’ from Spring – specifically, the force of up-thrust associated with water and how it stems from Archimedes’ ‘Eureka! Moment’.
Our next topic is ‘Living Things and Their Habitats’. Children should be able to describe the differences in the life cycles of a mammal, an amphibian, an insect and a bird and describe the life process of reproduction in some plants and animals.
The last topic of the year is ‘Earth and Space’. The children will be learning about the solar system and how day and night occurs on planet Earth. We will explore the size of spherical bodies, relative to the sun and examine why gravity is such an exceptional force.
