The governors took the decision in June 2018 not to allow children to bring phones or associated devices to school.

The decision was reached by considering all safeguarding implications, including:

• Children being seen as targets and in danger of being mugged or worse – police also feel that children are safer without phones than with them. 

• Children roaming freely around the internet away from adult supervision; it only takes one parent to not adhere to safety guidelines and all children are potentially exposed.

• Children looking at phones whilst crossing roads.

• Time spent dealing with social media issues takes away from valuable teaching and learning time.
