Saint Louise de Marillac was born in France in 1591. From a young age, she showed a deep love for God and a concern for people who were poor, sick, or in need. Although she experienced sadness and challenges in her early life, she trusted in God and continued to grow in faith.
After becoming a widow, Louise felt called to dedicate her life completely to serving others. Working alongside Saint Vincent de Paul, she co-founded the Daughters of Charity, a religious community devoted to caring for the poor, the sick, and orphaned children. The sisters worked in hospitals, schools, and homes, bringing compassion and practical help to those who needed it most.
Saint Louise believed that faith should be lived out through action. She encouraged others to serve with humility, gentleness, and respect. Her work continues around the world today through schools, hospitals, and charities inspired by her mission.
She is remembered as a model of service, compassion, and strong leadership rooted in faith.
Saint Louise teaches us to:
Care for those who are vulnerable.
Serve others with kindness and respect.
Lead with humility and compassion.
Persevere through challenges.
Put our faith into action.
Her life reminds us that even small acts of service can make a big difference in the world.
Dear God,
Thank you for Saint Louise,
Who showed love through service.
Help us to care for those in need,
To act with kindness and humility,
And to serve others with joyful hearts.
May our school be a place of compassion,
Welcome, and generosity.
Amen.

Saint Jude, also known as Jude Thaddeus, was one of the twelve Apostles of Jesus. He is remembered as a faithful follower of Christ who helped spread the Good News after Jesus’ resurrection.
Saint Jude is often called the patron saint of lost causes and desperate situations. Over the centuries, many people have prayed to him when facing great difficulties, trusting in his intercession and hope in God’s power.
In artwork, he is often shown with a flame above his head, symbolising the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, or holding an image of Jesus. His life reminds us to remain strong in faith, even when things feel challenging or uncertain.
Saint Jude’s feast day is celebrated on 28th October.
Saint Jude teaches us to:
Never lose hope.
Trust in God during difficult times.
Support one another when someone is struggling.
Remain faithful and courageous.
Encourage perseverance and resilience.
His example reminds us that with faith and support, we can face challenges together.
Dear God,
Thank You for Saint Jude,
A sign of hope in difficult times.
Help us to trust in You
When things feel hard or uncertain.
Give us courage, perseverance,
And faith to keep going.
May we support one another
And never lose hope.
Amen.
