Saint Gerard Majella was born in Italy in 1726. From a young age, he showed a deep love for prayer and a desire to serve God. Although he came from a poor family and had little formal education, Gerard trusted completely in God’s guidance.

As a young man, he joined the Redemptorist religious order as a lay brother. He carried out simple tasks such as cooking, sewing, and caring for others, but he did them with great love and dedication. Gerard was known for his kindness, obedience, and strong faith.

He is especially known today as the patron saint of mothers, expectant mothers, and unborn children. Many people pray to Saint Gerard for help during pregnancy and family life. He died at the young age of 29, but his example of humility and trust continues to inspire people around the world.
