Saint Abigail is a woman from the Old Testament who is remembered for her wisdom, courage, and peacemaking. Her story is found in the First Book of Samuel.

Abigail was married to a man named Nabal, who acted harshly and refused to help David and his men when they were in need. David became angry and planned revenge. However, Abigail acted quickly and bravely. She gathered food and supplies and went to meet David herself. She spoke to him with humility and wisdom, calming his anger and preventing violence.

Because of her actions, peace was restored. Abigail is remembered as a woman of strong faith, good judgement, and courage. She trusted God and chose reconciliation instead of conflict.

Saint Beatrice of Silva (1424–1492) was born in Portugal and later lived in Spain. She is remembered for her deep love of the Blessed Virgin Mary and for founding the Order of the Immaculate Conception, also known as the Conceptionist Sisters.

As a young woman, Beatrice served in the royal court. During this time, she experienced jealousy and hardship but responded with patience, prayer, and forgiveness. Instead of allowing difficulties to make her bitter, she grew stronger in faith.

Beatrice later dedicated her life fully to God. Inspired by her devotion to Mary, she founded a religious community focused on prayer, humility, and purity of heart. She trusted in God’s guidance and followed her calling with courage and determination.

She was canonised in 1976 and is remembered as a woman of peace, perseverance, and faith.
