Saint Ann (Saint Anne) is honoured as the mother of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the grandmother of Jesus. Although she is not mentioned by name in the Bible, her story comes from early Christian tradition.

Saint Ann and her husband, Joachim, prayed faithfully for many years for a child. God answered their prayers with the gift of Mary, who would later become the mother of Jesus. Because of this, Saint Ann is remembered as a woman of deep faith, patience, and trust in God’s plan.

She is often shown teaching the young Mary how to pray and read the Scriptures. For this reason, she is the patron saint of mothers, grandmothers, families, and those who are hoping for children.

Saint Ann reminds us of the importance of family life, loving guidance, and passing on faith from one generation to the next.

    Connection to Our School Values

    Saint Ann inspires us to:

    • Value our families and carers.

    • Show patience and trust in God.

    • Support and guide one another.

    • Grow in faith and wisdom.

    • Build a caring and respectful community.

Her example teaches us that quiet faithfulness and loving guidance can shape the future in powerful ways.

    Understanding, and peace.

Saint John Bosco, also known as Don Bosco, was born in Italy in 1815. He grew up in a poor family and lost his father at a young age. Despite many difficulties, he worked hard at school and felt called by God to become a priest.

As a priest, John Bosco dedicated his life to helping poor and vulnerable boys, especially those who were homeless or had no education. He believed that every child deserved love, guidance, and the chance to succeed. He opened schools and centres where young people could learn skills, grow in faith, and feel safe and valued.

He founded the Salesians of Don Bosco, a religious community that continues his mission around the world today. His approach to education was based on kindness, reason, and faith. He believed discipline should be built on encouragement rather than fear.

Saint John Bosco died in 1888 and was canonised in 1934. He is the patron saint of young people and youth workers.

    Connection to Our School Values

Saint John Bosco teaches us to:

    • Care especially for those who need extra support.

    • Treat others with kindness and patience.

    • Work hard and aim high.

    • Encourage one another to grow in confidence.

    • Build a joyful and welcoming community.

His life reminds us that education is not just about learning facts, but about helping each person reach their full potential.
