Who is Saint Anthony of Padua?
    • St Anthony was born a long time ago in Portugal, over 800 years ago.
    • He loved learning about God and reading the Bible.
    • He became a priest and travelled to help people learn about Jesus.
    • He was very kind to poor people and always tried to help others.
    • People said he was an amazing teacher because he explained difficult things in a simple way.
    • St Anthony is often shown holding the child Jesus and a lily flower, which stands for purity and goodness.
    • Many people pray to St Anthony when they lose something because he is known as the patron saint of lost things.
    • He cared about animals and all of God’s creation.
    • He was humble — he never tried to show off or act more important than others.
    • His feast day is celebrated on June 13th.
