CAFOD

CAFOD

Since September we have been working with CAFOD to raise money to help tackle injustice and to help provide some of the poorest people in the world with their basic human rights. Through workshops and assemblies children learnt some alarming statistics: every 20 seconds a child dies from drinking dirty water. One third of the children in the world aged 5 or younger will die as a result of not having enough to eat. That’s almost 3 million children each year. Led by the school council, the children here decided to do something to stop this from continuing. We have organised cake sales, mufti days, assemblies and tombolas, to name just a few, and last term raised enough money to buy a community overseas a clean water supply, toilets and a mechanic to make sure they work!
Recently, we were able to buy cows, chickens , goats and a vet to help look after them, so families can provide their loved ones with milk and eggs. We have also managed to buy a health care team from CAFOD to provide medical help and supplies to some of the poorest parts of the world and stop people, especially young children, dying unnecessarily.
But we are not stopping there! We believe every child has a right to an education and we want to raise even more money, so CAFOD can provide teachers to help children around the world learn to read, write and have a future, just like we do. Look out for more information on how we will be raising the money for this. With your help, we can make the world a better place. Together, we can make a difference!
