Letter to Parents - Regarding Phone Usage
The Governors took the decision in June 2018 to not allow children to bring phones to school.
The decision was reached by considering all safeguarding implications, including:
- Children being seen as targets and in danger of being mugged or worse - police also feel that children are safer without phones than with.
- Children roaming freely around the internet away from adult supervision; it only takes one parent to not adhere to safety guidelines and all children are potentially exposed.
- Children looking at phones whilst crossing roads.
- Time spent dealing with social media issues taking away from valuable teaching and learning time.
In order to fully protect all our children no exceptions to this rule will be considered.
